PROF. DR. İDİL BAŞTAN

Professor Dr. İdil Baştan graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2003 and completed her PhD at the same institution in 2011, focusing on canine parvovirus infection.

She spent a significant part of her academic career abroad, working as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, Small Animal Hospital (USA) between 2011 and 2018. During this period, she was actively involved in clinical and research activities in small animal medicine.

Professor Baştan has also pursued advanced training in veterinary cardiology through the University of Luxembourg and the European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies (ESAVS), completing key components of her cardiology specialization training.

She is currently a faculty member in the Department of Internal Medicine at Ankara University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Her main areas of interest include veterinary cardiology and small animal internal medicine, where she continues her clinical, academic, and scientific work.
