Prof. Dr. Duygu DALĞIN was born in İzmir, Türkiye, in 1970. She graduated from İzmir American College for Girls and subsequently earned both her veterinary degree and doctoral degree from Ankara University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
Since 2004, she has been serving as a faculty member in the Department of Veterinary Internal Medicine at Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Throughout her academic career, she has contributed to veterinary education, clinical practice, and scientific research in the field of companion animal internal medicine.
Her primary areas of interest include veterinary cardiology, metabolism, veterinary psychiatry, preventive medicine, and healthy aging strategies in companion animals. In recent years, she has become one of the leading voices in Türkiye promoting a scientific approach to veterinary longevity medicine, emphasizing evidence-based strategies to improve both lifespan and healthspan in dogs and cats.
Recognized for combining clinical medicine with a holistic understanding of animal welfare and quality of life, Prof. Dr. Dalgın continues to contribute to the advancement of companion animal medicine through education, research, and clinical practice.
A lifelong animal advocate, she has maintained a strong commitment to animal welfare and the human–animal bond throughout her professional career.
