MELİKE BAYSAL

Dr. Melike BAYSAL graduated from Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. Following an early period working as an assistant veterinarian in private practice, she established her own clinic in 2000 and has since continued her professional career as a companion animal veterinarian.

Alongside her clinical practice, Dr. Baysal has undertaken active roles in professional representation and veterinary governance. She served as Secretary General of the Bursa Chamber of Veterinarians following the 2018 General Assembly elections and was elected President of the Chamber for the 2022–2024 term, continuing in this role in her second term.

During her leadership period, she contributed to the establishment of the Bursa One Health Platform together with other healthcare professional chambers and has published articles on the One Health approach across digital and print media.

In 2022, she was elected as a member of the Central Council of the Turkish Veterinary Medical Association (TVHB) and served as Treasurer of the Council for one term. She is also a substitute board member of the Turkish Small Animal Veterinary Association (TSAVA).

Her areas of interest focus on animal health and welfare, veterinary professional development, and strengthening the connections between animal, human, and environmental health through the One Health perspective.
