Clare is Professor of Veterinary Neurology at the University of Surrey and senior neurologist at Wear Referrals clinic. Her work to improve the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of inherited and anatomically related painful diseases is a key driver of her research.
Prof. Rusbridge has been researching Chiari malformation, syringomyelia and neuropathic pain for over 25 years and has published over 160 scientific papers, book chapters and a textbook on human syringomyelia. He is also a trustee of the Dog Breeding Reform Group and an honorary supporter of the charities Cavalier Matters and Degenerative Myelopathy.

She graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1991 and obtained her diploma from the European College of Veterinary Neurology (ECVN) in 1996 following a residency program at the Royal Veterinary College. In 1997 he was awarded the title of Specialist in Veterinary Neurology by the RCVS, and in 2007 he was awarded a doctorate (PhD) degree from Utrecht University.
