SPEAKER BIO
Professor Jonathan Elliott is Professor of Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology at the Royal Veterinary College (UK). A graduate of the University of Cambridge, he completed his PhD in vascular biology within the Department of Pharmacology at Cambridge, followed by postgraduate clinical training at the University of Pennsylvania.
Since joining the Royal Veterinary College in 1990, Professor Elliott has developed internationally recognised research programmes focusing on feline chronic kidney disease, systemic hypertension, and equine laminitis. His work has significantly influenced clinical practice and has been recognised through numerous awards, including the Pfizer Academic Award, BSAVA Amoroso Award, Petplan Charitable Trust Award, ESVNU Scientific Award, and BSAVA Woodrow Award.
He is an honorary member of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, a Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, and a Fellow of the British Pharmacological Society. Professor Elliott has published more than 250 peer-reviewed scientific papers, supervised over 40 PhD students, and served as Vice Principal for Research and Innovation at the Royal Veterinary College from 2004 to 2021.
