Serhat Özsoy

I was born in Trabzon in 1962. I completed my primary, secondary and high school education in Sarıyer, Istanbul. I started to veterinary medicine education at Veterinary Faculty of İstanbul University  in 1980 and graduated in 1985. I started to work as a research assistant at Department of Surgery, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, İstanbul University. I started doctorate education at same department in 1986 and took the PhD title in 1990. I received the title of Assistant Professor in 1994, and title of Associate Professor in 1997, and the title of Professor in 2004 at the same department. I am still working in Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Veterinary Faculty,  Department of Surgery. I am also the head of the Department of Wild Animal Diseases and Ecology.

I complated the doctorate thesis about ''Cattle Foot Diseases'' and I have a book on this topic. I have been working in the field of orthopedic surgery for a long time. In recent years, I have been working on avian and exotic animal surgery. I have published a book on this subject.

I am married and have a child.
